Commercial API terms

These terms cover first-party commercial datasets. Open datasets are governed by their own upstream license — see licenses & terms.

License grant

Subject to an active subscription, datafloe grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to query the licensed dataset via the API and use the returned data within your own products and analyses.

What you are paying for

Some datasets publish an open current snapshot under its own permissive license (for example, LLM API pricing publishes its current snapshot as CC BY 4.0 — free to reuse with attribution). The commercial license does not sell exclusivity over that open data. It covers what the free snapshot doesn't: the verified append-only history, freshness and validation guarantees, provenance, versioning, and commercial support. You are paying for the maintained, guaranteed feed — not for secrecy over public facts.

Restrictions

  • No redistribution of the commercial layer. You may not resell, republish, or redistribute the licensed dataset, its price history, or a substantial extract of it. (Any portion a dataset publishes under an open license — e.g. its CC BY current snapshot — is governed by that license instead, and this restriction does not apply to it.)
  • No AI training. Commercial datasets may not be used to train or fine-tune machine-learning models. ai_training is false in the license record.
  • Attribution. Where the license record sets attribution_required: true, include the provided attribution text.

Provenance & accuracy

Commercial datasets are first-party compilations with per-row source provenance. We aim for accuracy and freshness but provide the data "as is", without warranty of completeness.

Fees & term

Pricing is shown per dataset (e.g. $99/mo). The license runs for the paid period and renews until cancelled. Access ends when the subscription lapses.

Changes

This is commercial-api-v1. Material changes ship as a new version; your existing terms don't change mid-term.
